Using exposure compensation to adjust brightness
In Auto, use exposure compensation before you take a picture to make it darker or lighter. Press 
to decrease exposure compensation, and 
to increase exposure compensation.
The exposure compensation level appears on the LCD 
and the LCD image gets darker or lighter.
